App Launch! 🎉🎉🎉
So after an intensive hackathon (nearly 2 months), we’re incredibly proud to announce that we’re LIVE on Google Play Store!!! Our iOS launch is awaiting approval and we expect that to go live within this week.
The decision to go mobile was a no-brainer. Since voice dating was the primary magical ingredient of Holler Date, we needed a medium where our users could discreetly and conveniently access audio tools to do their voice intros or browse voice intros of other singles like they’re tuning in to a regular podcast (kinda hard doing that on the train with a laptop).
We’ve also taken feedback on the web launch and decided to reduce the friction points for getting newly onboarded users to complete their profiles that comes with proper voice intro and photos.
Someone once told us that having bad traction is even worse than having no traction at all. We think this is especially true for Holler Date since our platform is suited for singles who desire to form genuine relationships with others on the site. Having users complete their KYC process is pretty vital to generating trust on the platform, but yet, we want the process to be pretty fun and enjoyable instead of filling out some long dreary application form.
To this point, we’ve added clear onboarding steps with pointers and tools that allow them to easily access voice audio tools or camera features to provide the digital data needed to complete the entire process.
As much as possible, we also wanted to reduce the need for text entry for the onboarding flow. Getting more users to conveniently access digital tools is our strategy to accomplishing this.
OH!!! And we’ve also launched our promo video. You get an idea of what Holler Date is all about within a minute.
